Instead of buying a whole new costume that you'll only wear once and then throw away try thinking about the clothes you already have or a crafty way to buy the least amount of new items. This will help not just the planet but also your bank.

1. Cowboy or Cowgirl

Have a pair of blue jeans? A flannel? You’re well on your way. A cowboy costume can be really easy and the only thing most people would have to buy new would be a cowboy hat. Simply wear jeans and a flannel add a belt and a bandana around your neck to finish the look.

2. Snowman

Where all white and then add some accessories like a winter hat and a scarf. Then you can easily make some black buttons with paper and pin them to your shirt. Then you can use makeup or paper to make a carrot nose.

3. Prince or Princess

Have a old fancy dress or suit you have not had the chance to wear again, this is the perfect opportunity. Wear your fanciest dress or suit and jewelry. The only thing you’ll have to buy is a tiara unless you already have one.

These are just some ideas but the likelihood that you have items in your closet that can make some sort of costume without having to buy a bunch of cheaply made pieces is high. Get creative and help save money and the environment this Halloween!
